Prenatal Pilates

D.C. moms-to-be, we’re excited to offer prenatal reformer Pilates group at Twist Pilates. For many, pregnancy comes with natural changes to your posture, gait and endurance. The gentle, low-impact nature of reformer Pilates makes it a safe and gentle way to move your body throughout your entire pregnancy (and beyond!).

Our prenatal classes are designed to help support your body as you grow your baby, and will focus on:

  • Increasing awareness of your pelvic floor and core during movement;

  • Maintaining your strength throughout pregnancy;

  • Preparing for postnatal movement patterns;

  • Improving your mobility, balance, and coordination as your center of gravity shifts.

  • Sessions may include invited guests including pelvic floor physical therapist and prenatal-focused massage therapist.

You’ll meet with the same group and teacher each week, forming a supportive community along the way!

Meet Naomi

Naomi began practicing Pilates to support her body with low-impact exercise in recovery from a disc injury. She quickly fell in love with the practice after experiencing transformative health benefits, including reduced pain and increased mobility.

Her mission as a Pilates instructor is to share functional, feel-good movement tailored to each student’s unique body and needs. Her classes are focused on form, flow, and fostering a lasting mind-body connection. By layering creative variations with the foundational exercises, she teaches classes that are engaging and accessible at all levels.

Over the past year, Naomi has been completing her Balanced Body Comprehensive Certification. She lives in Georgetown with her husband and her adorable pup, Kale.
